About Me

People say I'm:

a "typical" Leo, which sounds like an oxymoron. I write often, sometimes well. I've been published, although obscurely. I like to listen almost as much as to speak.
Describe Yourself:

I'm a fairly normal guy on the slippery side of 60. I harbor few pretentions any more. I spent 16 months in combat in Vietnam and all that I know of war and that which I've heard of peace have rendered me an expert in disbelief. I've worked in politics and government for more than 30 years and found out that the only difference between Song Be and City Hall is the sand bags.

I love the blues, most classic rock and women singers. I love songwriter-poet types who tell tales of loss, love and longing in their lyrics; artists like Mary Chapin Carpenter, Emmylou Harris, Judy Collins, etc.

Pat Conroy, Sebastian Barry, Nelson DeMille, James Lee Burke., I loved "Pillars of the Earth."
